Are you open on Saturday?

The Baton Rouge training center is open on the second Saturday of each month from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Gonzales location is open on the third Saturday of each month from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Addis location is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Walker training center is open on the first Saturday of each month. The last check-in at each location is 11:15 a.m. Saturday hours and dates are subject to change depending on holidays.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Once registration is confirmed, the account will be charged for the class unless a cancellation is received by these specified times:

  • Before 12:00 PM two business days prior to the class: No charge (May be done online).
  • After 12:00 PM two business days prior to the class until 4:00 PM the day before class is scheduled: 50% of class fee (Must call 225-766-0955 to cancel).
  • Day of class or no-shows: Full price.

If Alliance Safety Council must cancel a class due to insufficient registrations, notice will be given two days in advance and there will be no charge.

What is your check-in policy

Arrive at the training center 30-60 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Payment may be made by cash, credit card or money order prior to attending training. Personal checks are not accepted. Proper identification is required.

Accepted forms of photo identification:

  • Valid driver’s license or state I.D. card
  • Or two of the following:
    • Federal identification card
    • INS I.D. card issued by federal, state or local government agencies
    • Valid passport
    • School I.D. card with a photo
    • Voter’s registration card along with a photo I.D.
    • U.S. military card
    • Military dependent I.D. card
    • U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner card
    • Native American tribal document
    • Canadian driver’s license

What is the latest time i can check in for a class?

The latest check-in time for the Baton Rouge training center is 3 p.m. For Gonzales, it is 2:30 p.m. For Addis, it is 1:15 p.m. For Walker, the last check-in time is 1:10 p.m.

Do I have to go to the location where I'm scheduled?

Students should go to the training center where they are registered due to capacity limitations. However, if a student shows up at the wrong location, we will try to accommodate him/her as time and space allow. If the scheduled course or CBT lab is full, or if there is not adequate time to complete the testing, then the student may be asked to go to another location or reschedule. This only applies to Alliance Safety Council locations.

How much is the Basic Orientation Plus (BOP)?

The Basic Orientation Plus (12BR) course requires a passing score and will yield an ARSC reciprocal card, otherwise referred to as an OSHA card. The cost is $39 for members and $45 for non-members if registered online; the walk-in cost is $55. The fee to replace a lost card is $10.

How much is the Basic Orientation Plus (BOP) Refresher?

This is an annual update for the 12BR (BOP) course (pre-requisite) we offer. Any regulatory changes over the year are covered as well as a review. The cost is $29 for members and $35 for non-members if registered online. Walk-in cost is $45.

Do I get my old card back?

Yes. If a student fails a course, he/she is instructed to return to the front counter to get his/her old card back.

How much is the Security Passport?

Upon successful completion of the background screening process, a student will be issued a Security Passport identification badge.

The cost is $61 for members and $65 for non-members if registered online. Walk-in registration for students is $74.

To apply for a Security Passport, a Social Security ID card and a valid state driver’s license or state ID is required.

How much are the site-specific courses?

How long are the site-specific courses?

Site-specific courses vary. Course descriptions and times can be found on our Available Courses page.

I need to take another course, but my company can't schedule online. What do I do?

All course registration is online, and a business account is required for companies to register students. If a company does not have access to online registration, we have computers in our CBT lab for company use.

Can I register for the required training class myself?

The only courses with self-registration options are:

  • Basic Orientation Plus – ARSC Reciprocal (12BR)
  • Basic Orientation Plus Refresher – ARSC Reciprocal (12BR1)
  • Confined Space (ARSC) (A12CS)
  • PCS Nitrogen – Geismar Site Orientation (12PCSNIT)
  • Forklift Safety – SAF Computer/Web-Based (12SAFFSW)
  • Security Passport (12SECPAS)
  • CPR and AED for the Community & Workplace – Adult (12548CPR)
  • First Aid – 4 Hours (12545AID)

All other sites specifics have to be registered through a company.

Can I take a break during training or a test?

Students are allowed to bookmark their progress and resume during a training module as well as take breaks between different scheduled courses, but breaks are not allowed during a test. Instructor-led courses contain scheduled breaks.

If I run out of time, will my company need to reschedule me or will you be able to do so?

Your company will need to reschedule.

What do I need to work in a plant?

Some plants require Basic Orientation Plus (12BR). However, workers must contact the company or plant where they are scheduled to work for specific training requirements.

How do I get to a specific plant?

The company or immediate supervisor must provide that information.

How do my employees log in?

All employees use a common username and password plus a Social Security number to identify the individual as a company employee. Once logged in, the employee is presented with classes approved for your company’s training curriculum.

Upon completion, the status is shown next to each course. Administrators can view all training history using the reports tab.
